Hartsgesteldheid
Groet,
Evert-jan

Re: Hartsgesteldheid
I find it difficult to know how to balance God's soverignty with man's responsibility in this whole area. We know that no one can come to Christ unless the Father draws him.
On the street I think we must preach as if the decision is up to the people who listen or walk past while trusting God to work in their hearts through the power of the gospel preached. The result can be that people get upset, ignore us, are apathetic, find it interesting, start seeking the Lord or get saved. Their response is not our responsibility.
The message is a stumbling block and foolishness to the lost. Only to the saved is it the power of God.
Consequently if we go out preaching the gospel and expecting to see people get saved we will often be dissapointed. Western society is hard ground. It is a field of weeds with some corn in it. There will be reaping but there is not much. Our responsibility is to preach and sow the seed so that later there may be a harvest.
